Here at our Y, we focus on youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility. Y volunteers give men, women, teens, and children of all ages and from all walks of life the resources and support they need to be healthy, confident, connected and secure.
Ways to Volunteer at Our Y
- Join our Boards of Directors and committees.
- Raise funds to ensure the Y is accessible to all members of the community.
- Assist coaching one of our sports teams.
- Mentor and support youth in building the character strengths, skills, and relationships that lead to positive behaviors, better health, smart life choices, and the pursuit of higher education and goals.
- Become a Y lifeguard or substitute.
- Extend a helping hand to adults who want to do more, be more or live healthier.
- Advocate for the Y’s efforts to influence policies and initiatives that positively impact societal issues of importance to the nation, and your community.
- Participate in our social responsibility efforts that help partner organizations.
- Sponsor one of our local community days.

FRONT DESK SUPPORT
• Checking members in

Time : 4:00pm-7:00pm
UPK TEACHING INTERN
to help assist our Lead Teachers with their students, the class size currently is 6 students per class
• assist with ideas on outreach to help develop a age 3 program
Time: 8:30-12pm & 1:00pm-5:00pm
AFTERSCHOOL PROGRAM
• Needed to create lesson plans for students age 5-13
• run activities with the support of the Employees
Time 2:30pm-6:30pm
HEALTHY LIVING COORDINATOR
• Assist the Healthy Living Dept in doing data input on the Weld system for tracking programs
• Diabetes prevention
• Conducting outreach to get the YMCA services out to the community, senior centers, etc
Time: 1:00pm-6:00pm
FLEXIBLE MARKETING COMMUNICATION
• Work on social media marketing for YMCA
• using tik tok, facebook, IG & other platforms ;creating videos with current trends
• Help with marketing our current Fitness class

YOUTH SPORT COORDINATOR

High School Community Service hours
The YMCA offers high school students a chance to volunteer in programs to earn the hours needed to graduate high school.
Please note all interns/volunteers will be supervised by the Manager of the department & supported by HR as well. They will be able to have a free membership with NRYMCA while they are interning with us. Contact: HR: Kraghubir@rymca.org 914-339-9439
Volunteer Application Process
- Complete the Volunteer Application and background check authorizations, sign them, and return them to the YMCA at frontdesk@nrymca.org. Please be sure to include 3 references.
- References will be checked and an interview will be set up once they have been verified.
- A criminal background check will be conducted, online training will be completed, and a meeting will be set up with the department contact person.
- Volunteering will commence.
The volunteering application process may take up to two or three weeks, so please plan ahead.
