When children enter the Y Afterschool program, a whole other world of imagination and growth opens up to them. In addition to supplementing what they have learned in school, children participate in interactive learning models that engage critical thinking skills, get assistance with their homework from trained YMCA staff, have a chance to socialize with each other, and form long-lasting friendships that enhance their development, growth and self-confidence.

Our curriculum is based on a program model that focuses on learning enhancement, health, recreation, while also building competence and confidence in children. The program runs every regular school day;  from 3:00 PM to 6:30 PM at our main location on Weyman Ave and 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Daniel Webster Elementary School located at 95 Glenmore Drive in New Rochelle. Snacks are provided.

The YMCA does not provide transportation; this must be arranged through the school district. Children from Jefferson School may be picked up by the Y staff with parental approval. In case of an earlier school district dismissal, children would be picked up at Jefferson School.
