The New Rochelle YMCA Titan Basketball Team is open to youth/teens ages 8-15. Our program encourages and promotes healthy kids, families and communities by placing a priority on family involvement, healthy competition and sportsmanship. The emphasis is on participation over winning. Learning to play as a team and individual development produces fair play and mutual respect for others. The Titans feature two teams; Our Developmental Team and our Travel Team.

Developmental Team (ages 8 to 15)

Our developmental team is designed to introduce your child to the elements of competitive basketball. In addition to the typical skills covered in our Skills and Drills program, such as dribbling, movement and shooting, this program starts to introduce youth and teens to the skills necessary to play competitively. This includes rules, strategy and cooperative play. This program takes place solely at the New Rochelle YMCA branch and does not compete in any regional competitions. This team is broken down into two sub-categories; Ages 8 to 11 and 12 to 15. Our younger group is co-ed.  Youth who participate in this team will receive a team uniform, included in the program price.

Travel Team (Ages 8 to 15)

Our travel team is for youth who are ready to enter the American Athletic Association (AAU) competitive circuit. Youth enrolled in this program will be traveling to compete across the region in addition to attending team practices This team is broken down into two sub-categories; Ages 8 to 11 and 12 to 15. Youth who participate in this team will receive a team uniform, included in the program price. Practices on Fridays will be held at the New Rochelle YMCA. Competitive dates will be announced later. Please note that all team members are responsible for arranging their own transportation to events.
